Road Forward Scholarship Fund

The Road Forward Scholarship Fund, a not-for-profit section 501(c)(3), was established to fulfill the dream of higher education for local East End high school seniors who are economically challenged and are engaged in their community. Scholarships were awarded in 2022 and 2023 to nine deserving local students. To help ensure the success of our students, we’ve created an active mentoring program.

Our Students

Our award recipients are students who otherwise cannot afford to attend college and who have often suffered extreme hardship in a variety of circumstances, such as abandonment or loss of parents.

Many students are first generation college applicants and while attending high school, these students often work to help support their families and participate in community activities . Our scholarship awardees have told us:

“Thanks to your donation I will be able to continue my education…I will be very busy next year but will strive through it to get a step closer to achieving my American Dream of becoming a
women’s health practitioner.”

“It means so much to know the community has faith in my abilities to contribute back and make this world a better place.”
